Chenrezig Practice
Chenrezig is the deity that is said to be the embodiement of compassion.
The well-known and respected Kalu Rinpoche, Lama Norlha Rinpoche's root Lama, described the practice as so:
"Chenrezig represents the union of love and compassion of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Meditation on Chenrezig develops that love and compassion in practitioners, thus leading to the realization of emptiness, the ultimate nature. That is why I chose this deity for Western students.”
There are several ways to practice the Chenrezig sadhana. When we join together on the 1st Sunday of the month, we practice the longer form which includes the Long Life Prayer and several other prayers that can be omitted. For copies of the shorter options to practice at home, email us.
Lama Samten gave us a teaching on Chenrezig that can be found on our Audio Teachings page.
