Our Mission
Kagyu Samdrup Choling (KSC) or Dharma Garden is a nonprofit Tibetan Buddhist Center in Randolph County created for the practice of transformative, contemplative methods of awakening and enlightenment. Our intention is to cultivate a spiritual and educational environment for all seekers. We promote values of wholeness, inclusiveness, interconnection, and the importance of developing wisdom and compassion for the benefit of all.
Our spiritual guidance originates from Lama Norlha Rinpoche and Tai Situ Rinpoche, lineage holders of the Kagyu School of Tibetan Buddhism. The core Dharma (teachings) of KSC is derived from their teachings. We have a non-sectarian approach to our Dharma and spirituality and thus honor teachings and teachers from other spiritual traditions.
KSC has established and is expanding facilities to meet the needs of its members. This includes development of the Sangha (the community of seekers) through ongoing regularly scheduled peer-guided meetings to study and learn meditation techniques, spiritual practices, as well as hosting visiting teachers for dharma teachings, workshops and seminars. We share the responsibility for caring for our Lamas, teachers, and our center.
KSC has also been designated by Lama Norlha Rinpoche as a site for construction of an enlightenment stupa on the grounds, and for establishment of a traditional 3 year retreat center in the Kagyu Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
